Assessing Recurrent Prostate Cancer

Recurrence, also known as Biochemical Recurrence (BCR), is demonstrated through your PSA.

Until recently, CT scans were used to check for prostate cancer when PSA scores rose after treatment. A positron-emission tomography (PET) scan is a newer, more accurate way for doctors to check if and where prostate cancer has spread in your body. There are two FDA-approved PET CT scans that are often used in men with prostate cancer.
